To say a lot has happened since our formation in 2012 would be an understatement.
The members of No More GMOs – Toronto have shifted their focus to other pursuits, including completing PhDs, founding Safe Food Matters, working directly with CBAN on campaigns, and working with the Toronto Non GMO Coalition.

<< WHO WE ARE>>
We are a Toronto-based grassroots action and education group campaigning since 2012 against the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in our food supply. We are part of the broad food sovereignty movement for systemic change and a just transition away from corporate control over food and related sectors, including energy. We are also a founding member of the Toronto Non GMO Coalition.
Our vision is a food system based on the principles of food sovereignty and agroecology as outlined by La Vía Campesina — a food system in which the interests and demands of diverse farmers and eaters come before markets and profits.
To achieve our Vision, we…
– Partner with grassroots organizations in our communities who share our commitments, both in Canada and elsewhere, to develop synergies, share information, experiences and resources to achieve common goals;
– Share with the public the best available, independent research on how GMOs effect our lives, environments, communities and economies;
– Garner public support for the fight against GMOs by undertaking demonstrative, non-violent action when it is appropriate and beneficial to do so, using the most effective channels available to us;
– Foster, wherever possible, a collaborative environment with the government and farming community in order to influence the quality and safety of the food products being offered to the Canadian public and;
– Identify specific, timely and relevant issues that require both our immediate and on-going attention.

GMOs are a crime to humanity and should be outlawed everywhere. Unfortunately those who want to push GMOs on us have a lot of influence, control, and means. But not for long if people wise up and learn to grow food – which should be taught everywhere. Seed saving banks should be some of the most valued things on our world! Check out Gabriel of Urantia (founder of the largest ecovillage in the US – http://gabrielofurantia.com/) and the slow food movement. We all need to get excited about this! And reclaim our food and our health. Thanks for your website.
